Introduction The case I chose to write on is based on a DVD that we watched in class called ‘Beaten by a hair’. In this case, a woman was reported missing after she went to work and never returned home. After the police discovered a bloody pillow case in the woods, near her house, they linked it to the missing pillow case in the woman’s room, and then realized that they had a murder case on their hands. A mystery in the case was that one of the local neighbors had mentioned seeing the woman leave through the front door of her house but the evidence says different, so investigators had to find out who left the house that morning. I am interested in this case because it was very intriguing how the forensic officers put all the pieces The highly trained dogs showed that the woman in fact did not leave through the front door that morning; but one of the woman’s neighbours said that she had seen her leave her house in the morning. The dogs also revealed that the woman that had been murdered actually left through the back door. Using the blood hound was a useful technique because they were able to see the path in which the girl went that night, and they had suspected she had been killed in her room and taken to the woods escaping through the back door. Although this technique was useful, it had created another problem ; the woman who had left from the front of the house was not the victim, so they needed to find out who it was. The methods used that played a major role in solving the crime were the analysis of the hair that the officers had found using DNA and using mass spectrometry. The investigators found a hair brush with many hair strands on it . The investigators took every single hair strand and examined them and by using DNA they matched the hair strands to previous records the victim had such as her blood tests. Not all the hairs had matched the victim’s DNA, and under further hair analysis they noted that it was not hair from the victim’s head. Detectives were trying to find suspects and suspected the gardener of the house because he was homeless and lived in his car which he parks at a
segregation. The coloured were lucky if they had a bath, while the white paid money for someone to comb their hair a certain way. The strong white man drank from his pristine tap, while the young coloured boy drank from the broken, rusting tap reserved for coloured. The coloured lay awake at night, fearing the worst, while the whites’ slumber was peaceful. While white house-wives were beaten for revealing their husbands’ deepest secrets, punched, slapped and kicked until they were bleeding and lifeless…
through, my father beaten, and my older brother taken for immense questioning, my mother managed to send me on my way, into a brighter future on the back of sandy, the family horse, along with a bag of supplies. Packed full enough to get me as far as we could without weighing me down. "Go, get as far as you an and never let them take you alive," my mother kissed my forehead sending me on my way. Just to get beaten down in return. I heard her scream as I peered back, with my hair whipping my face,…
Some men just want to watch the world burn. Psychopathic, manipulative and absurd is the only way to describe the Joker. With his messy green hair and bright purple suit, the Joker is a little more than uncoordinated. If the attire wasn’t enough, the flower on his lapel at any given time can shoot acid, toxic laughing gas, water, or nothing at all. The randomness that is contained within this character is utterly absurd. With that insidious smile that constantly plasters his face, he has gleefully…
didn’t speak much of it. John had a severe concussion and bruises down his body from another one of his father’s beatings. John was born in Detroit, a dirty run-down town with next to no work. He grew up there most of his childhood; he had medium brown hair, pale skin and was overweight. Each day John wakes up to be faced with another nightmare, another challenge to survive the day, he gets severely bullied by the kids at school. At home is the worst, john’s dad beats him for not being more like his brother…

met a white man in such an unexpected elegance of get-up that in the first moment I took him for a sort of vision. I saw a high, starched collar, white cuffs, a light alpaca jacket, snowy white trousers, a clean necktie, and varnished boots. No hat. Hair parted, brushed, oiled, under a green lined parasol held a big white hand. He was amazing and had a pen-holder behind his ear.” (page21) Marlow is one of the main characters of the book that narrates most of the story. He is a well-traveled sailor…
the room. The weeping replaced the sound of blood spurting and leaking from a struggling body as a young girl witnessed the beating of her mother and now the death of her father. He had been murdered. Finally gone. A woman lay beside the red corpse. Beaten. Bloody. Unconscious. Standing over the mutilated corpse stood a huge figure who began to stroll powerfully across the dirty, cluttered room, towards the little girl in the corner. She whimpered pathetically as his huge body knealt before her. His…
Teeth have become a huge social status indicator in this day and age in America. They show how much money an individual has, along with power. Have you ever seen someone on television from America with poor, crooked, yellow teeth? More than likely the answer is no, but if it’s yes, they were meant to look that way. The way America thinks is not only mind boggling, in my opinion, but it is wrong. Some of the richest people on earth have really quite awful teeth, but they chose to have them…
