Introduction
Our names are Dinah Adiekponyah, Jasmin Alexander, and Marjorie Brown. We are a part of a cross-functional team in the chemical manufacturing market; our company is called DJM Inc. Our company’s main focus and objective is to help resolve issues or difficulties that our clients many be having. Issues range from technological, economical, or interpersonal. We are hired by companies in the hopes of helping them resolve such issues. Our recent assignment comes from a chemical and pharmaceutical company named Bayer AG. Bayer AG is a global company with main competencies in the fields of health care, nutrition and high-tech materials and is highly recognized for Aspirin, which is the company’s staple invention.
Bayer is widely praised for the companies research and development and their commitment to healthcare innovation and high-tech materials used for production. Bayer is known for their diversified business operations in which give them an advantage over the competition. For the most part they operate under two divisions’ pharmaceuticals, and consumer health. In addition, Bayer succeeds because of its strong global force in the business. Operating in more than 150 countries all over the world, the company has made a staple in the pharmaceutical industry. Bayer’s partial notability comes from their increased diversity within the company. Within each of Bayer’s established organizations you can find a wide range of diverse employees in reference to ethnicity, gender, and age. The largest groups of workers are of Asian/Pacific decent and are men; however, they also have employees that are from Latin, Indian, African, Middle Eastern, European, and West Indian decent. This chart shows that by age the company is very diverse. With such a diverse work place there is bound to be issues arising especially when you introduce new ideas or principles into the company. People of difference ages and nationalities have different views on situations and this presents a challenge. However, Bayer prides themselves on the fact that the company is so embracive with diversity and in fact has a creed in place called “Target 2015”, which is set in place for the specified reasons: * Significantly Increase the amount of woman in the company by 22%. * Significantly increase the number of women in management positions. * Apply a better benefit package to single women with children.

Clear Statement of the Problem
Our team DJM Inc’s, main objective is to get this company’s diverse group of workers up to speed with the new computer system issued by the company. We must strategically formulate a plan to train all the employees at the many different levels the workers are currently in. Every worker must be knowledgeable on this new technology. The challenge for our team is that the company has a very wide range of employees with differences and capabilities when it comes to technology. Young college graduates are of the least concern being that they are the most efficient in computers; recent immigrants and those with language challenges are one of most concern being that these employees have minimal understanding in technology and have rarely had to use computers.
Challenges/ Problems
Some of the questions we asked are, is there a communication barrier/pattern, direction, risk tolerant, reward system, identity, control, and integration balance in the company? The answers lead to the identification of the challenges with the organization. * Discrimination of Race and Ethnicity
