Dear President Barack Obama,

My name is Paul Morrison and I am a student at the Bronxville School in New York. Over the past two weeks I have read a book by Rodman Phillbrick called “Max the Mighty.” I found this book to be both interesting and inspiring. The book also taught me a very important life lesson as well which is you should not judge a book by it's cover.

In this book, Max is a boy who's size tends intimidates people and is often thought of as a freak. After meeting a girl named Rachel, also known as Worm, Max discovers that she is having problems with her step-dad and is determined to put an end to this. In an attempt to help Worm, Max carries her out of the house and the two hide for a while. When her step-dad became aware of this, he reported it to the police and claimed the Max was trying to hurt Worm.

Worm and Max run off together and travel to find Worm's real father who would be able to fix this situation. Although Max and Worm were already close friends, their friendship was able to blossom into an inseparable bond. After reading this story I learned that although people may be different on the outside, its what is on the inside that matters.

I would strongly recommend that you read this book because it is a book that everyone can enjoy. I believe that everyone can benefit from reading this book, not only for the lessons that it teaches us but also because it is a book that you cannot put down once you have started reading it.
