This assertion is true. The assertion can be interpreted to mean that women have a skewed version of the past. This can be deduced from the text by the fact that in the very first sentence it states, “Now, women forget all those things they don’t want to remember, and remember everything they don’t want to forget.” That portion of text basically states that women take whatever portions of situations that they want to remember or forget and use it to their advantage. In the last two sentences of the quote the reason for women having a skewed version of the past is in the last two sentences of the quote, “The dream is the truth. Then they act and do things accordingly.” If women skew the past for their benefit then they would use these memories to ensure that they see themselves as living out their dreams.
In simpler terms women will skew the past in order to ensure that they see themselves as living out their dreams to their benefit. This act is beneficial for women because if the see themselves as living their dreams then they will feel and be content to a degree.
