There are many young people that do not how serious is to assault a law enforcement officer, they just go with their impulses and commit this offense on a simply traffic stop or similar situation. According to "Assault on a Law enforcement officer" (2011), in Florida a 2nd degree assault is a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 60 days in prison and $500 in fines; or 1st degree misdemeanor, punishable by up to 1 year in prison and $1,000 in fines. An aggravated assault meaning the offense went to the next level, 3rd degree felony, punishable by up to 5 years in a Florida State prison and a fine of up to $5,000; or 2nd degree felony, punishable by up to 15 years in a Florida State prison and up to $10,000 in fines. In the state of New Jersey the simple assault on third or fourth degree on a police officer he or she will face from 18 months to five years and aggravates assault on an officer person will face ten years in prison. On the other hand the state of Pennsylvania is a bit tougher than New Jersey the sentence on assault to an officer is ten year if it goes aggravated it doubles. Laws sentencing in the state of Illinois are very much like in the state of Florida. In Illinois the kidnapping is very serious; a simple kidnapping charge sentence is 3 to seven years. If it is aggravated kidnapping meaning someone gets hurt it can go from 15 years to life in state prison. Pennsylvania considers kidnapping a felony with a sentence up to 20 years in state prison.
