Drinking age should not be lower to 18
Today, the raising and lowering age of alcohol become a very big argument people are seriously fighting about. Many people are fighting about lowering the age to eighteen years old without thinking about the damage that may cause later on. Most of eighteen years old people are less mature and are not very responsible. They may easily lose control after drinking alcohol. A lot people died from drunk driving related fatalities, drunk driving will continues to be an enormously important public safety issue.
In 2009, the 21 to 24 year-old age group had the highest percentage of drivers in fatal crashes with blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level of .08 or higher. In 2010, the highest drunk driving rates were 18 to 20 years old and that is very bad for the society. The Reason Why It Should not is lower.
Alcohol may develop some diseases in our body or create some serious health issue. The biggest and serious problem is the brain; alcohol may cause you a big brain damage. The Federal agencies quoted that “The brains and bodies of teens are still developing, and alcohol use can cause learning problems.” In 2005, about 10.8 million persons ages 12-20 (28.2% of this age group) reported drinking alcohol in the past month. Nearly 7.2 million (18.8%) were binge drinkers, and 2.3 million (6.0%) were heavy drinkers.2 More males than females ages 12-20 reported current alcohol use. Therefore lowering
