Argumentative Essay In today’s society, many people believe that others are bad people because of their actions. Like what Anne Frank had once said, “I keep my ideals, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Some may disagree with this quote, but I agree with what Anne Frank had said because I believe that everyone is a good person even if they choose the wrong path in life. In Night, by Elie Wiesel, there are many examples of people doing bad things but this does not necessarily mean that they are a bad person. For example, toward the beginning/ middle of the book when Elie and his father had walked into the concentration camps, they saw prisoners throwing other prisoners into the “oven” to burn their bodies. This does not mean that the prisoners that are throwing the bodies into the fire a bad person because they are doing what they are told to do in order to survive in the camps. Another example is when everyone thought that Moishe the Beadle was a crazy person but really he was just trying to warn the others to escape from the Germans as soon as they can because he knows what it is like to be trapped in those camps. The book Night, by Elie Wiesel, shows what Anne Frank had said before; based on what you may see people do, does not mean that they are a bad person. In the article, “The Kommandant’s Daughter”, by Thomas Harding there were also examples of what Anne Frank had said. For example, Brigtte Hoss believed that if she had told everyone that she was the Kommandant of Auschwitz’s daughter, then many people would blame her for her father’s actions. At that time she was young when everything occurred. She didn’t know better to tell her father to stop hurting the jews. Also, her father would not have taken her word for it either because he would think that she was too young to understand what was going around her. In the article, Harding talks about what Brigitte’s life was when she was with her father. The article talked about how her father killed many Jewish people and what Brigitte thought and felt if others had known whose daughter she was. Now that the story of Brigitte Hoss is out, many people may think she is a bad person because she was that daughter of the Kommandant of Auschwitz, but she is really not. Some may think that she is to blame for. But I believe that she was
