Plot:
African-American leader, Malcom X, converts to the Islamic Religion. He travels and preaches The Islamic religion to others as also including in racism in his preaching’s and how it needs to stop. He explains that even though people are black they are still people everyone is the same origin called human kind.
Film summary:
Malcolm X was an African American leader. He was born with the name Malcolm Little, after his father, and he was killed by the Ku Klux Klan. Malcolm became a gangster in his early years, and while in jail he discovered the Nation of Islam writings of Elijah Muhammad. Malcom started preaching the teachings when he was let out of jail, but later travels to a pilgrimage to the city of Mecca, there he converts to the original Islamic religion and becomes a Sunni Muslim, and then changes his name to El-Hajj Malik Al-Shabazz. He is assassinated on February 21, 1965 and dies a Muslim martyr.
Favorite character/scene:
My favorite character would be Betty X (His wife). I like her because even when she didn’t like or agree with Malcom she always supported him and tried to protect the children at the same time.
My favorite scene is one of Malcom’s speeches and he says how no matter what they do African- American’s are still called black. He said that we are all humans and we are different yet very similar.
History:
This movie helps one’s understanding of history because it shows how much racism there was back then and how your own people can turn on you.
