Aphorism: Cesar Chavez
The quote I chose is the first quote, “We draw our strength from our despair” by Cesar Chavez. The meaning of this quote is that when we are going through the excruciating moments of pain and despair, we must realize and remember that these obstacles confront us to make us stronger. These times will always come no matter what, but that is what makes us that person, the way we confront those obstacles. The path we take, the methods we use, that is what makes who we are. The reader should collect from this quote, values that we should follow like perseverance and persistence, but in a good way. You must not be persistent in an annoying way, rather than that, you should not giving up at performing conscientious acts.
I can relate to this quote by my hatred. For many years, I have been ridiculed and spat at, just for being myself and my beliefs, my values, my hopes and dreams. It has been some of the worst years of my life, but they have made me stronger, stronger in hope and believing. Recently, I have started to accumulate hatred and despair and turn in it into my strength, so no one can stomp on me and ridicule me ever. It has been growing, it starts from the people being rash at school, not caring what they say to me, then when I go home, I am persecuted, targeted and again ridiculed. My life has been a repeated cycle of ridicule as well as a cycle of repeated strength. I cry at night sometimes, along the way it has caused me depression
