Egypt was still using wooden weapons and arrows with stone heads and due to the difference in military strength Hyksos eventually captured Memphis in 1674 B.C.E. They soon took control of Egypt but it was a very short period because Egypt retaliated and drove them out. To win against the Hyksos, they equipped their troops with bronze weapons and used horses- drawn chariots. This event helped them increase their military strength and even though Egypt took damage their success outweighed the cost. Nomads settled in Egypt because of the rich soil, caused by the annual floods of the Nile River. It was also easily protected, not easily invaded.
