Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels
SELFINTRODUCTION:
My name is Karl Marx and I am from Germany. I am a philosopher, economist, sociologist, journalist and revolutionary socialist. I am one of the founders of sociology and social science. I have published the books The Communist Manifesto (1848) and Das Kapital
(18671894). I was born into a wealthy middle class family in Trier in the Prussian Rhineland. I studied at the universities of Bonn and Berlin. There at these universities I became interested in the philosophical ideas of the Young Hegelians. After I finished my studies I wrote for a radical newspaper in Cologne and began to work on the theory of the materialist conception of history.
In 1843 I moved to Paris where I wrote for other radical newspapers and met Friedrich Engels. I am Friedrich Engels and I am from Germany.I was the eldest son of a wealthy German cotton manufacturer. My father, Friedrich Sr. was an evangelical. I am a social scientist
,
author, political theorist
, philosopher , and father of
Marxist theory
, together with
Karl Marx
. On
1845 I published
The Condition of the Working Class in England
, based on my personal observations and research in
Manchester
. In 1848 I co wrote the
The Communist Manifesto with
Karl Marx. I supported Karl Marx financially to do research and write
Das Kapital
. In 1841, I joined the
Prussian Army as a member of the Household Artillery. I was assigned to Berlin, where I attended university lectures and began to associate with groups of
Young Hegelians

OPENING STATEMENT:
Nationalism is a vice with destructive power for the people of Europe because we interpreted issues concerning nationality on a social evolutionary and class reductionist basis.
We claim that the creation of the modern nation state is the result of the replacement of feudalism with the capitalist mode of production
. We saw the origins of the nation state and national identity as bourgeois in nature, both of us believed that the creation of the centralized state was a result of the collapse of feudalism and creation of capitalism had created positive social conditions to stimulate class struggle. We evaluated progressive nationalism as involving the destruction of feudalism, and believed that it was a beneficial step, but evaluated nationalism detrimental to the evolution of international class struggle as reactionary and necessary to be destroyed. Marx claims that although civil society is a capitalist creation and represents bourgeois class rule, it is beneficial to the proletariat because it is unstable in that neither states nor the bourgeoisie can control a civil society VIEW ON HUMAN NATURE:
We believe that human histor y involves transforming human nature, which encompasses both human beings and material objects. Humans recognise that they possess both actual and potential selves. We are concerned with how people relate to their own labor power. The possibility that one may give up ownership of one's own labor, one's capacity to transform the world, is mount to being alienated from one's own nature. It is a spiritual loss.

PROS/CONS OF EUROPEAN NATIONALISM:
A pro of nationalism is that it makes the states stronger for example it unified Italy. But a con is that it destroyed the Holy Roman Empire. Nationalism caused an unnecessary destruction in Europe. Nationalist uprisings lead to numerous revolts, disturbing order and causing needless death.Nationalist stirrings lead to the assassination of the Habsburg heir, and caused World War
1. However nationalism is also a good thing because it has encouraged the unification of people, lead to the growth of nations and it has made a better economy. Nationalism allowed for the subjects themselves to come together and overthrow old governments and reinstate new ones. It allowed them to come together as
