In this paper I am going to point out four types of Anxiety, what they are, some of their symptoms and some ways to ease each type of anxiety to keep the disorder to a minimum. Anxiety is a serious mental condition that can interfere with our everyday lives. Everyone has Anxiety to a point, but it becomes a psychological disorder when it interferes with our everyday lives.

Anxiety is very serious and can be crippling to anyone that experiences it. Other than medications, there are ways of getting anxiety under control. First lets list the types of anxiety disorders that will be discussed:
1. Panic Disorder
2. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
3. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
4. Social Anxiety
Let's start with Panic Disorder. This is a type of anxiety disorder where you have actual panic attacks. This causes feelings of choking, irregular heartbeat and sweating (Web MD). It is also likely to cause hyperventilation. Some techniques that are used to get this type of anxiety under control are to take deep breathes, nice and slow, think of your special serene, relaxing spot, think only positive thoughts about anything than what is causing or caused the attack. Another thing that helps is when you feel the attack coming on, make sure to tell those around you not to ask what's wrong, but to encourage you that you are OK. To be asked that question while having an attack causes the person to re-live the nature of the attack over and over again, and they end up worse off than when they started having panic anxiety.
The second type of anxiety that will be discussed is OCD, which stands to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. With this disorder people feel compulsion to do things like clean the house, or wash their hands. To them it is a ritual “it has to be done now” or routine that is an uncontrollable urge. For example: Kyle has a OCD with having a clean floor and vacuums twice a day. Depending on the circumstances, he may vacuum up to four times a day. Clean floors tend to be a big deal to a lot of people with OCD. The best way to get this type of disorder under control is with cognitive-behavioral therapy. If Mike were to crush some crackers, or chips, etc. on the floor and not vacuum it, he would learn to control his anxiety and the obsessiveness and compulsion to vacuum. This type of anxiety will eventually diminish on its own.
Next I will discuss PTSD which stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This type of anxiety occurs from traumatic events that the person continues to re-live. Sometimes the person feels worse rather than better as time goes on. This type of anxiety is easiest to overcome with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy. This therapy requires a licensed therapist and consists of bilateral stimulation to work on targeted problems. Unlike hypnosis, EMDR is a very rapid way to release PTSD anxiety. “EMDR may be particularly effective at promoting neural integration through the ways in which it activates
