William Shakespeare’s original play in the 16th century and Baz Luhrmann’s filmic interpretation of Romeo and Juliet in 1996 both convey a tragedy. Despite the different attitudes, values and beliefs of love during the four century time difference, the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is timeless.
