There were many things that happened in this time period that had an impact on the economic history of the American people. One of the major troubles that occurred during the 1920’s were a lot of people weren’t receiving a good salary or even making money at all, so businesses and industries were losing money and not making a profit due to failures in banks. Almost everything that was once in high demand dropped to its lowest, like wheat and corn. The prices were way too high so people couldn’t afford to buy them, which was very devastating for farmers. Once Hoover Herbert came into office he tried to make the Americans feel like they had nothing to worry about; everything was going to be under control and the nation was going to be turned around. Hoover conceived that the government should be more active if business and labor were in conflict they should be able to get together and discuss the issues. That was not a bad idea that way everyone would be on the same level of understanding and be able to have solutions to their problems. Herbert also asked employers not to cut wages nor lay off workers seeing if that would make a difference unfortunately it didn’t. The economy ended up shrinking unemployment was still rising. Hell continued to grow, and Hoboes continued to be astray. Hoover became a victim because everything that he tired didn’t work so many Americans became feed up and angry. Farmers burned their own corn and wheat and dumped their milk on highways rather than selling it and losing money. Americans who onced believed in Hoover was very disappointed.
There were also many things in this time period that influenced the social history of the United States of America. The Hard ships of the depression left many Americans feeling like there was no hope or any sign of change during the 1920’s-1930’s the suicide rates started to grow and many people went insane. Imagine being a parent during the 1920’s you couldn’t afford to take care of yourself let alone take care your children at least if you had kids they were able to get some pocket change from working hard in sweatshops that would help their families. 2,600 schools shut down so many students were left making money off of the streets. Living in slumps and digging out trash cans to find food wasn’t what most Americans planned on doing, but when you’re in a desperate situation you end up doing desperate things. People relied on soup kitchens and bread lines for food and I’m sure soup kitchen lines were very long and people had to wait in line for hours to get food. Basically if you were living during this time period you had no future if you were planning on going to college or have kids it wasn’t going too happened. There were no doctors or dentist, so if you got sick you were on your own. Americans were still able to somehow able to cope with this situation. They learned how to save, be thrifty and work with what they had. Even to this day that is not such a bad idea many people now a day’s still decide to live like that. Not that their going through hard times but it also

Roman Civilization The Gladiator (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060815203707AAOPTLL) History and Interpretation of Gladiatorial Games Some Historians believe that the Romans inherited the practice of gladiatorial games from the Etruscans who used them as part of a funeral ritual (servants would duel to the death for the right to provide companionship to their owners in eternity). Other historians point to evidence of gladiators in Campanian society, perhaps of Samnite origin…
today's political campaigns. Today, politicians place advertisements, create slogans, and produce commercials to win the public's votes. The politicians also sabotage their opponents' campaigns. I was confused on why the public would want to view gladiators and animals fighting to their death. I wouldn't want to see a bloody battle to the death. Today society would consider the fights physical and animal abuse. I wonder where the Romans got all of the exotic animals used in the shows from. I thought…
