Damien and Cyrus had been friends since childhood. From the inception of their friendship, you did not see one without the other. Until one day… on one of their infrequent ventures, both Damien and Cyrus laid eyes on Ashley, a very beautiful young girl in the village. Her presence was grandiose and both could not stop staring at her. Eventually, Cyrus became brazen enough to speak to the beautiful girl. While Damien stood, back still shy. Once Cyrus and ashley started speaking, he became obtuse because he was so infatuated with Ashley, a very savant and graceful young woman.
With deference Cyrus listened to Damien’s caustic rant regarding his new friend Ashley, and the time they were spending together. Cyrus was a neophyte at romantic relationships, up to this point Damien was the only friend he had ever had and vice versa. Stultifying Damien’s behavior, even though it was over the top would be selfish. He commiserated deeply with the hurt, because if the tables were turned he would probably be reacting in the same matter. Damien felt as though his relationship with Cyrus would be abdicated if Cyrus’ love with Ashley grew any stronger. What Cyrus did not know was that Damien too was in love with Ashley, he was just very shy. As Damien expressed his reproach to Cyrus, whose mind was filled with thoughts of his next meeting with Ashley; Damien’s voice became a drone to Cyrus and it was difficult for him to enunciate his words with clarity so others could understand. After a while, of tuning in and out, Cyrus felt as though Damien was trying to set decorum for him as to how he should balance both him and Ashley. Cyrus became very upset with Damien’s verbal abuse, this had been the first time ever that they had gotten in a dispute. The girth of the dispute was so large that at this point Cyrus had to choice between his lifelong friend and his first love.
