This time frame can range from a few years to a few million years. The term is used to express changes in the overall weather and weather distribution that are different from what is considered the statistical norm. This can be either an increase or a decrease in significant weather events. In recent years, it is hard to imagine a topic that has been more intensely debated than that of climate change. Often individuals are hard pressed on one side of the argument or the other and rarely is there a "middle ground". Those with a more culturally diverse value system and background generally concur that man has caused climatic change by liberating greenhouse gases into the environment. This is carried out by burning up classic fuels for heating up, and cooking food; also for transportation requirements and to generate electrical power. Plants throughout the world producing all kinds of items for the requirements of mankind are a serious problem in this connection. The cutting down of woodlands for developing area for harvesting, towns, and roads plays a role in the issue by decreasing the quantity of trees. All of these actions are putting more greenhouse gases. There are main effects as a consequence of continued climatic change around the world. These incorporate modifications in the earth’s orbit, alternation in the intensity of sunlight approaching our planet, alternation in ocean circulation, and volcanic outbreaks. Substantial climatic change taking place on Earth will lead to altering precipitation patterns, the melting of ice in the Arctic, melting glaciers throughout the world, enhanced ocean temperatures, and an increasing sea level throughout the world (EPA, 2014).
Those primarily with less a less diverse background or education, often argue that climate change is a normal cycle that can be expected. While there is some validity to that statement, climate does in fact cycle normally. This argument does not provide statistics that are reliable in the sense of the type of extreme climate change scientist now believe we are in the process there of. The climate reacts to the dominant forces of Earth; currently humans are now the dominating force.
Still yet there are some that view climate change as some sort of hoax or corporate gimmick. Allegations have been made that scientists and institutions involved in global warming research are part of a global scientific conspiracy or engaged in a manipulative hoax. In a speech given to the US Senate Committee on the Environment and Public Works on July 28, 2003, entitled "The Science of Climate Change", Senator James Inhofe (Republican, for Oklahoma) concluded by asking the following question: "With all of the hysteria, all of the fear, all of the phony science, could it be that man-made global warming is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people?" Arguments continued with statements against climate change as "an elaborate conspiracy in which hundreds of climate scientists have twisted their results to support the climate change theory in order to protect their research funding" and adds, "Sounds plausible to us. Through the years various naysayers, through different venues have expressed their belief of a swindle or hoax. Some have gone as far as to produce television shows and movies. One TV documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle was made by Martin Durkin, who called global warming "a multibillion-dollar worldwide industry, created by fanatically anti-industrial environmentalists.
