Dear Al Gore, Your film “An Inconvenient Truth” has many great points on how global warming is happening and the dire impact this can have on our future planet. An important point you made in the film was the rapidly growing global population and the effect it has on global warming. I agree with your point, of how CO2 will increase global warming because when CO2 gets in the atmosphere, it traps the warmth from the sun in the planets lower atmosphere which makes it so that no heat is escaping. This leads to what is called global warming. The more CO2 that is released intensifies the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is “ the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation from the sun than to infrared radiation emitted from the planet's surface.” The more population means more CO2, which also means an increase in global warming. A growing population accelerates this process. The global population grows at an exponential rate, which causes waste such as resources. The increasing population also can cause natural catastrophes throughout the world, due to global warming.
Overpopulation is the biggest problem throughout the world. Our resources are diminishing, as the population of over 7.5 billion people, is still increasing. The more global population increase, will cause an increase in not only global warming, but also a decrease in resources. 20 percent of the population consumes 86 percent of the
