The purpose for our team conducting research and tests for aerodynamics was to develop ways that the everyday modern car could become more aerodynamic to improve fuel economy. We decided to perform tests and find research about your typical everyday vehicle, so that we could reach a broader group of buyers, include people who are buying new vehicles, and those who currently own a vehicle so they can enjoy the maximum fuel economy for their vehicle.

The demand for more aerodynamic vehicles is at an all-time high due to rising gas prices and the increased demand for more miles per unit of energy. With the creations of new alternative powered cars, such as the Tesla Model S, aerodynamics is essential to the success of these vehicles. Without the current and future advances in aerodynamics, transportation would be much worse and expensive. Currently there is a large amount of research going into the development of flying cars and other vehicles that will require the most precise and adequate aerodynamics to ensure their success.
