You have always been at my side and supported me as best as you could in my life, which has always gave me that extra confidence and happiness. How Hitler Rose to Power Everybody knows Hitler for his cruel acts towards the Jews. If a man was that evil, nobody would vote for him for any office, but how exactly did he rise to the position of chancellor of Germany and Fuhrer of the Nazi party? The Treaty of Versailles left Germany in a crippled mess. After World War One ended, the superior country was now in an absolute state of poverty and chaos. The Treaty of Versailles blamed all causes of World War One on Germany and made Germany pay huge debts that would take decades to pay off. Germany also lost some of its land to France. The Treaty left Germany in desperate need for a person who would lead the destroyed country out of the mess it was in and restore its original glory. They would soon find the perfect solution in a wretched young man named Adolf Hitler. The main reason Hitler rose to power was because of the political and economic chaos that Germany went through. Desperate people were living in terrible conditions, and Hitler had answers for everyone’s problems. Hitler promised to restore order and greatness through his powerful and motivational speeches. Hitler joined the German Worker’s party in 1919. As Hitler’s popularity grew, so did the amount of his followers. Hitler was in a crazed frenzy and wanted the party to succeed, which lead him to his desire to become the chancellor of Germany over President Hindenburg. The depression drew attention to the weakness of the Weimer constitution (The constitution of the Reich) as poverty and unemployment kept on increasing. This drastically decreased respect for the Democratic Party in Germany, and made the Nazi party seem like the more attractive option. In 1930, Capitalists were starting to support the Nazi’s more strongly, because they feared that the worker riots were going to explode all over Germany. At this point, businessmen and the elite saw Hitler as a politician who could prevent this from happening. To ensure his success, they provided him with great financial support. The money that was given to him from the capitalists along with the money made from his book Mein Kempf totaled to a very large sum of money. This enabled Hitler’s campaigns to be even more effective and allowed him the access of more modern technology to publicize the Nazi party more efficiently to the world. Propaganda was a huge factor in Hitler’s plan to manipulate the German’s when he rose to power so that they would believe Jews were the roots to their problems. His book,Mein Kempf, was distributed to schools to teach the youth there. Schools then in Germany only taught the
