According the United States Constitution Article one Section eight, Congress shall has the power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts, and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States; but All Duties, Impost’s and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States; To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the forgoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department Officer thereof (Mount (2010)).
Currently, the United States of America has a State and a Federal level of law enforcement. Each of these levels is controlled by the either the state or federal government. In addition to these levels can be broken down into smaller organizations. For example, at the state level you will find organizations like Police Officers, Corrections Officers, County Sheriffs, and State Troopers.
