This I Believe
Last spring break my family took a trip to California. We went to Santa Monica beach, which was probably my favorite part of the vacation. It wasn’t like any other ordinary beach where girls lay on their towels trying to reach a perfect tan, observing the cute guys at the beach, that you might only hit on later. It was a beach filled with hundreds of different, unique people. There were tight rope walkers, dancers, hula hoopers, singers, gymnast and so many more. Everything, everybody there was different, and it was beautiful. I believe that different is beautiful.

Imagine living in a world with no differences. Where everyone was the same. Everyone wore the same clothes, talked the same, and had the same interest. Differences are what make people unique. It’s important and beneficial to live, act, and think differently from our peers, because creativity and conflicting opinions shape our world. But sometimes, it seems as if it would be better if we all thought alike, because its harder to be shot down as group, then a individual. But that’s exactly what’s killing society. Humanity needs to open up their eyes and look at all the beautiful unique individuals.

High School is a perfect example of not accepting individuality. When you go to school you always have to worry about the way you look or how you walk or who your friends are in order to "fit in". If you don't have a model body or an "Abercrombie and Fitch" boyfriend/girlfriend you don't really
