Abortion is an extremely pressing topic today among Christians today. Many people question at what point does life begin? Many Christians believe strongly that life begins at the moment of conception, therefore making aborting an unborn fetus murder. Many say that God is the creator of life. Who are we to say when a child should be born into the world? Every life said to be precious. The bible does state, “thy shall not kill (Exodus 20:13)”.So is a woman aborting a fetus abortion. On the other side of the argument, there are those that believe that woman since it is their body they should have the right to state if they choose to bear children. With all of this information up for debate, abortion continues to remain one of the most controversial issues today affecting Christianity and other religious traditions.

The Guttmacher Institute reported 1,212,400 abortions based on data from actual abortionist (Life Issues Institute, 2012).” Many Pro-life Christians believe that at times it is acceptable for a woman to abort a fetus. Situations such as rape, if the woman is not financially or mentally capable of taking care of another child or if bearing a child puts the woman or fetus at risk of possible death are all situations where some may consider abortion acceptable.
