Purpose:

Their name came from came from the pioneer airmail company, Compagnie Generale
Aeropostal. They originally designed their company around the theme of airmail but that quickly faded away.

The companies purpose for changing their brand to a high fashion style is to attract to a more mature audience. This is a target audience of ages 18-25, men and women.

Aeropostale originated in New York in 1987 by
R.H. Macy’s & Co.
Their original audience is for tweens ages 10-15.
Their original competitors are American Eagle,
Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister.
They offer clothing, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories. They also want to go back to their New York routes and embody the New York street high fashion style.
