What’s up Erik! U won’t believe what happened. I was in a car accident this morning. I was headed to our usual spot on 5th Ave when this dude ran a red light and hit my car. I’m aight though, didn’t nobody get hurt. My car on the other hand looks a hot mess. Now you know I’m salty about that. The cops were at the scene in no time. Ole boy got arrested for drunk driving, he was 2 times over the legal limit. Now I have to go through this whole process of filing a claim. You already know insurance companies take forever n a day trying to pay us. It’s cool though, just means Imma get me a new car soon. Well bro, Imma get at you lata. Let me see if I can rent a car 1st, if not I’ll be hitting you up soon.

To whom it may concern,
On September 13, 2012, I was involved in a car accident. My 2011 Nissan Altima was hit as I attempted to cross an intersection. While driving on Fifth Avenue another vehicle ran a red light, and side swiped my vehicle. We both pulled over immediately to inspect the damages. Upon doing so, I smelled a strong odor coming from the other party. I immediately contacted the police. The police responded promptly and administered a DUI test on the driver. He had twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. We were able to swap insurance information before his arrest. I am not at fault of this accident. The police report and accounts of other witness will shed light on this information. I’m not sure how the process works in filing a claim, but I’ve already submitted everything in regards to this accident. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to speed up the process.

Anthony it is important to use inclusive language when communicating in class forums, whether online or face-to-face because the forum is here for everyone to communicate with the instructor and classmates. With that being said, I feel you made a lot of careless mistakes in addressing the class today.
It is very important that you choose your words wisely. Although your intentions seem harmless, your word choice could have offended a few of our classmates. You should never single out a person’s race, gender, sex ethnicity, or other personal traits or characteristics when it has no direct bearing on the topic at hand. When addressing the class you could’ve easily said “Hello Everyone” or “Hi Class”, instead of singling out the guys, as there are women in our class as well. Also, instead of using the words “business lady”, you could’ve changed that to facilitator or speaker. You said that you were surprised that she had a lot of good things to say. This seems to mean that you were surprised because she was a woman. I’m sure you didn’t mean it that way, but that is how it came across to us.
