US History ASSIGNMENTS – POSTER

YOUR ASSIGNMENT

Your task is to research a topic within the history of the United States for the chapter, and create an informational poster.

REQUIREMENTS

1. A large title
2. Handwritten / typed information that summarizes your topic in your own words.
3. Your summary/biography should answer the following questions:
a. Who? What? When? Where? How? Why is it important?
4. At least 4-5 images (These can be drawn / photos / or a combination of the two)
5. You must also answer the following question: Why is your topic important within American history?
6. A works cited page with at least 4 sources. NOTE: You must include a works cited page to receive a grade for your poster.

HISTORICAL FIGURE RESUME

YOUR ASSIGNMENT / REQUIREMENTS

Create a standard resume describing the life and accomplishments of a figure in American History. Your resume should include the following items:

Contact Information (Be as accurate as possible but you can be creative. Address? Phone Number? City? State? Email? Personal Website?
Educational Background (University, High School, etc… Make sure to include all information available)
Work Experience (What type of jobs did the person have? Be sure to describe the details of each position. List at least 3-4 places of employment)
Accomplishments / Honors (Did the person win any awards? Did they accomplish anything noteworthy? Do they have a monument? Must have at least 6 items)
Skills (List at least 6-8 skills that your historical character possesses. Are they a great public speaker? Are they a skilled fighter? Can they use PowerPoint?)
Hobbies (What does your historical figure enjoy doing? Fishing? Traveling? Sports? List at least 4 hobbies)
References (These would be other historical figures that could vouch for the personality and character of your figure. Must have at least 4)
Typed (12 Point Font / 1” Margins / Use bullet points to organize)
Length (Resume should be no more than 2 pages long)
