Residential Summer Schools

Dear Student Are you considering going to university in the future? Are the current changes regarding the fees etc affecting your decisions? Would you like to find out more about university? Is university right for you? You may have many more questions that need answers, so why don’t you consider this ideal opportunity of participating in our 3-day 2-night Residential Summer School at the University of Bedfordshire from 17 to 19 July 2013. You’ll be able to physically compare the differences between your school/college life and university life, as well as sampling your favourite subject choice and meeting others who have the same interests. You will gain information about the current changes and how they will affect your decision to go. By socialising, studying and gaining knowledge, you are bound to get a real feel for university life! You can only choose one subject for the three days. Please read the information below and apply asap.

Sports Science
This will not be all fun and games!! You will study a combination of sociological, philosophical and psychological concepts and theories to sport as well as partaking in practical activities, based in our state-of-the-art labs. This will be based at our Bedford campus.
Business, Law, Leisure and Tourism
All these subjects are inter-connected and you will be surprised how the underpinning knowledge of one can affect all. Ideal for those who are interested in exploring the many elements that are involved in everyday businesses.
Psychology
Ever wondered why fall we in love? Or why we sleep? Or why people do what they do? This course provides the theory and practical activities behind this popular subject including social, developmental and cognitive psychology.
Nursing/Midwifery
For those who are interested in a career in Healthcare, this is perfect. You will be based in Butterfield Park, Luton where the learning facilities will ensure you have plenty of opportunities to develop and refine your clinical skills.
Media
You may be in front or behind the camera, either way this exciting subject provides you with an insight to the skills needed to analyse the media as well as giving you the practical skills to work within it.
Art and Design
This is not just about a paintbrush! You will explore a number of different visual art practices, develop your skills and focus on the media that best suits your interests and creative abilities.
