On September 11th, 2001 Two Airlines crashed into the Twin Towersof the World Trade Center in New York City. That morning, 19 terrorist hijacked two planes crashing them into both buildings, killing everyone on board, and many people in the towers. Both buildings collapsed within two hours. The NISA estimated that about 17,400 people were in the buildings at the time of the attack. The USA responded by launching the war on terror.
At 8:46 A.m. the first plane crashed into the North Tower. It was total destruction. One of the survivors was named Pasquale Buzzelli . His office was located on the 64th floor of the North Tower. As he began his escape to get out , he reached the 22nd floor and started “the building shook, the stairs started to heave .It sounded like heavy objects were being droped against my head the sound got louder, closer I dove into a corner I felt like the walls next to me crack and buckle on top of me.” As he regained consciousness on a slab of concrete. He was numb and thought “I’m dead.”
The north tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m, after burning for 102 minutes. 1366 people died when the north tower was attacked. At 9:03 A.m the second plane crashed into the south tower. Hundreds of people were killed instantly, while others were trapped and many died after the tower collapsed.
