I used more than two weeks to read this book (one-day one chapter) and I wrote these to record what I have learned and how I felt for reading each chapter.

1 Introduction
The introduction section really helps me fix some confusion in my mind. All the time, I always cannot be very specific define "leadership", "power", "management", and hard to identify the differences between them. By reading the introduction, I can identify some core concepts of the leadership such as (1) leadership behavior is a process; (2) leadership includes the influence; (3) leadership process must be in an organization structure occurred; (4) leadership process and the pursuit of the target is closely related (page.3). "Managers are people who do things right and leaders are people who do the right thing" this sentence is interesting and I was impressed with this sentence. It summed up the difference between managers and leaders.

2 Trait approach
First, I want to say that I do not believe the great theory. I do not believe those characteristics of great men are innate. However, I believe that a good leader must have certain characteristics. For example, my college roommate, who is also my good friend Ziyang Zhang, is our university student association president. He has obvious characteristics, his disposition extroversion, like to make friends with people. In addition, I am very interested in the case of "Choosing a New Director of Research", I want to know the answers to other students, and we can exchange thoughts.

3 Skill approach
If I am a follower, I think I do not like the word "skill." It made me feel that I was cheated. As trait theory, I hope to follow the leaders who are really having personal charm but not using "skills." In my view, the difference between the qualities and skills, depending on the leaders whether deliberately to do something. As a graduate student and major in International Enterprise Leader, my attitude is through learning to develop my own leadership qualities instead of just learning the skills of management.

4 Style approach
Style approach concern the leader what to do and how to do. Style approach reminds leaders focused on two aspects that behavior task and relationship. In some cases, leaders need to behave more inclined to task orientation, and in other cases, and they need more tends to relationship orientation. Style approach marks an important transfer of leadership theory research focus, however, it also has drawbacks. First is that it is enough to explain the leaders and staff corresponding performance how to contact together. The second is that it could not find a generic leadership pattern

5 Situational approach
I support situational approach. The organizational internal environment and external environment are not set in stone, the leader need to transform the leadership model in order to adapt to different situations. To do this, I think it is not easy. I like to watch NBA games. Good team coach can always make the fastest and best reflection to the changes on the pitch.

6 contingency theory
Contingency theory is concerned about the style and situation. In the theory, leadership styles are divided into the mission driving type and relationship drive type. Situations can be assessed from three elements. The first is the leader-subordinate relationship; the second is the task structure and the last is the position of power.

7 Path-goal theory
The theory is about how the leaders motivate employees to achieve the target. The main component of Path-goal theory includes leader behavior, subordinate personality characteristics, the characteristics of the task and leader's incentive. The book says this theory also has the insufficiencies. However, I think the application of this theory is extensive.
