Never Go There, It Destroys Lives
I have never agreed with pornography. I will never feel that is it okay, and there are so many reasons behind my thoughts. Nobody should put their bodies out there for others to see. It is very harmful to women as well as others. “Exposure to violent pornography encourages male aggression against women” (Thio, p 223). No man should ever be violent towards a woman and I feel it is so wrong. Why don’t people remember that stated: keep your hands to yourself, a very simple statement used when I was in kindergarten and young. I also agree with Thio’s explanations of “pornography destroying a traditional family’s values as well as an entire societies” (223). Personally it is just disgusting, and even worse in recent news. The most recent is Kim Kardashian’s nudes all over the internet which is more than disturbing. I feel that the nudes are part of the whole pornography issue too. Talking about destroying a family’s values, that does it all because she has a kid, North West, which that could impact her growing up. I wonder do people ever stop and think that the whole world will know and see them. People have begun thinking less and less about the repercussions or their actions and how messed up they truly are. I think that a woman in a family has very important roles, and the whole pornography industry could affect it she chose to partake in it. In addition, there are homosexuals in society today. I do feel that whatever someone chooses, they should be able to do what makes them happy. I am not against homosexuality. There are different theories towards it though including the biological and sociological theories. The biological theory discusses of course the biological stuff of: “hormones, genes, and the brain” (Thio, p.257). I agree with one of the main aspects of this theory regarding the genetic theory. “People are born or bred to be gay” (Thio, p.257). I do believe this is true however I do not agree that there is no hormonal differences because think about it, if there is a gene difference why wouldn’t the hormones be changed too. Finally comes the brain theory when discussing the biological factors. This is when there is a “difference in the size of the hypothalamus, cluster of neurons, or tissues in the brains lower area which controls sex drive and body temperature which was concluded by Simon LeVay”
