I can tell Jimmy takes his job as a policeman seriously because the writer says he was “trying doors as he went…to cast his watchful eye…” (21).

Bob
I think Bob is a little bit cocky. If he was on the run, then he should have been more cautious with who he was talking to. He also talked to a cop, which isn’t very smart if your wanted. He could have avoided the situation somehow.
I also think that he is collected. He doesn’t get nervous while talking to the cop.
