First Class Paper
My name is James Vines and I am a Team Lead over Field and Stream at Academy Sports & Outdoors in Flowood, Mississippi. The funny thing about that statement is the fact that while my job is to oversee a department about hunting and fishing activities I myself have not fished since I was very young nor have I ever fired a firearm. In October of last year I moved to Ridgeland, Mississippi from Winnsboro, Louisiana after living there for two years. I started out as a Sales Associate at the store in Jackson, Mississippi in November of last year and was offered the Team Lead position when the management staff was moving getting ready to set things up for the other store. While I did not know a lot about the department in the beginning I did know a lot about retail from working at Wal-Mart for the past two years while I was living in Louisiana.
I was born in Pensacola, Florida but moved to Louisiana after graduating from West Florida High School in 2011; I was unable to attend college at the time though due to living two hours from the nearest campus and not having a good internet connection. When my dad offered me a room at his house in Ridgeland I jumped at the chance to move to a metro area mainly because I had wanted to be able to get into a career path that dealt with something I enjoyed and ITT was close by.
