This meant that if they found gold they would be very rich and have a good life. Many people found gold but at the same time many people did not find anything. This is where the miners especially from China, who did not find gold they just stayed in the U.S. to have an opportunity to have a good life. This made many people to believe that it was a good decision to immigrate to the U.S. So this made the Asian immigrants to move to the U.S.

This event effected the Asian immigrants because now the U.S. government had the right to stop the Chinese immigrants which had a high rate of the Asian immigrants. This made the Chinese immigrants feel that they were not wanted in the U.S. so many of the Chinese did not go to the U.S.

1880-1890

1890-1900
1892- Geary Act was passed which meant that the Chinese Exclusion Act and the Scott Act were extended. This event effected the Asian immigrants because it increased the Chinese Exclusion act which was only meant for 10 years. This caused the Chinese believe there could no longer be a future in the U.S. so many stopped trying to come to the U.S.

1900-1910
1907-1908 The Gentleman’s Agreement was passed between the U.S. and Japan which did not let any Japanese laborers to enter the U.S. This event effected the Asian immigrants because like the Chinese Exclusion Act it suspended the labor immigrants who wanted a new future to come to the U.S. This event caused the immigration rate from Asia drop even lower which made people believe that the U.S. was no longer following the constitution.
