1.Splott 2x+4=-3+14
2x + 4 + 3x = –3x + 14 + 3x
5x + 4 = 14
5x + 4 + 4 = 14 + 4
5x = 18 –12 = –5x
5 x divided by 5 is equal to 18 divided by 5 x = 18/5
Little Splott error was when they decided to add 4 on both sides, what should have happened is subtract 4 so that it would cancel out. I don't know where 5x = 18 - 12 = -5x came from, it probably was a confusion do to the first mistake.
1.Fizzle
2x + 4 = –3x + 14
2x + 4 – 2x = –3x + 14 – 2x
4 = 14 – 5x 4 – 14 = 14 – x5 - 14 –12 + 5 = –5x + 5 –7 = x
Poor Fizzle was obviously lost, they miscalculated 4 - 14 = -10 not -12. Do to that mess up there, anything further would be incorrect. I’m confused as to how they managed to get –12 + 5 = –5x + 5, I believe that they tried to add the 5x, when in the end it should have been divided.
2.Function
f(x) = 2x + 3 f(-6) = 2(-6) + 3 f(-6) = -12 + 3 f(-6) = -9
I don’t really know a way that I can explain function since I myself barely understand it but I think the best way of putting it is that you plug in your (x) and that once you give an input there will always be an output.

2.Inverse Function
F(x) = 6x + 2
1.Replace the function with y
Y = 6x + 2
2. switch the y and the x
X = 6y + 2  3.solve like any other function -2 -2  first you subtract by 2
X – 2 = 6y /6 /6  4.this is where it starts going into inverse
(X – 2)/6 = y  5.replace with inverse
X – 2/6 = f-1(x)
(2 – 2)/6 = f-1(2)  0/6 = f-1(2)  0 = f-1(2)
