0-3 MONTHS
Babies are born with many reflexes, which are actions they do without thinking. Many reflexes are linked to survival, for example swallowing and sucking reflexes this ensures that the baby can feed and swallow milk.

Babies at one month will be getting stronger, and may be able to lift their head upright but will still need to give their head plenty of support.

A baby’s physical development at three months is that babies are already working hard to become more mobile. As there head and neck muscles become stronger and may soon learn to roll over.
Babies start to cry when they are hungry or needing a nappy change or maybe even just telling you they want a cuddle. They also tend to cry when they are not feeling well.

Babies at one month will get startled by sounds and responds to the noises. They will also be quiet by familiar voices. They also start to smile properly.

By 3 months babies can laugh out loud and smile when they can hear your voice.
Babies at times stare at their mothers face and watches when someone is trying to communicate with them.

Babies at one month in this stage wont stop crying when they are picked up but start crying when they are put down.

At 3 months babies begin to enjoy playing with other people and may cry when playing stops. Some movements and facial expressions.
3-6 MONTHS
Babies start to roll over from front to back and are able to lift head and chest when on their tummy by four months when on tummy will lift and wave their arms and legs about.

Begins to discover their hands belong to them and plays with fingers, grabs and plays with his toes when lying on back.

By 6 months they are able to support own weight when stood on feet. Sits up when being held by hands.
Expressive and communicates more with face and body.

Babies also start to make noises like coos and gurgles. Also begins babbling and then listening at around three to four months.

Around five to six months they start to ‘talk’ to toys and turns head to sound which they hear around the environment they are in.
Begins to display a social smile your baby is learning to recognize familiar faces and is eager to greet them.

At four months babies smile a lot and kick their legs, they are interested in the surroundings and activities going on around.

Babies are drawn to image of self in mirrors. Also babies start to begin to learn how to comfort themselves.
6-9 MONTHS
Between 6-8 months babies are learning to hold and drink from a cup. By 7 months, they can hold a spoon but they purposefully use it and also begins to eat a solid food diet.

Babies at 8 months can sit without any support and can move around by rolling. Stand firmly on legs when held in a standing position.

A baby’s physical development at 9 months is that babies start to feed themselves small pieces of food.
Between 6-9 months babies will likely to repeat sounds e.g. da-da, ga-ga, mm-mm). Turn to listen to familiar sounds, such as the telephone.

Look at you when you say their name. Babies may also recognize familiar words like ‘no’ or be able to show you a ball or a wave goodbye when asked to do so.
Starts to say ‘Dada’ or ‘Mama’ non-specifically, Lifts arms to parents when they want picking up. Many babies shout for attention when they are not given it.

Responds to simple requests with actions e.g. holding out arms. Also responds to their own name and looks for a familiar family member when named.

Responds playfully to facial expressions or when looking in a mirror and imitates sounds.
9-12 MONTHS
By 10 months babies can move around by shuffling or crawling. By 10-12 months babies can walk while holding an adults hand.

Babies also learn to crawl up stairs, put objects in and take them out of containers. Connect animals with actions and sounds, such as meows, barks or chirps. They can also copy the actions of others.
Babies will communicate through body language by pointing, nodding
